Yemen government forces report capturing dozens of Houthis
In Yemen’s Al Hudaydah province, government forces said they had captured dozens of members of the Houthi movement during clashes in the Al Jarahi district in the south of the province.
Statement by a ministry representative
Anadolu Agency reports, citing Fayyad al-Numan, an official at Yemen’s Ministry of Information. According to him, government units captured dozens of movement members during fighting in Al Jarahi. In his statement, the official called the Houthis a terrorist militia.
Activists also circulated images on social media which, they said, showed captured Houthis being held by government forces. As of 14:00 GMT, Houthi representatives had not commented on these reports.

Reports of drones in Taiz
Earlier the same day, military media of the government-backed National Resistance Forces said their units had shot down two Houthi attack drones in the southwestern province of Taiz.
According to the agency, fighting has intensified in recent days on several fronts in Yemen amid reciprocal attacks that began in July and ended a period of relative calm. That period had lasted after a UN-mediated truce was concluded in April 2022. The Houthis have controlled the capital, Sanaa, and a number of other cities since September 2014, while the internationally recognized government and allied forces control significant territories in the south, east and west of the country.
