Lukashenko approved draft intergovernmental agreement with Zimbabwe on co-operation in customs issues


On August 24th, Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko signed Decree No. 291, which approved the draft agreement between the governments of Belarus and Zimbabwe on co-operation and mutual assistance in customs issues as a basis for negotiations, sb.by reports citing the Belarusian leader’s press service



The agreement defines the key forms of co-operation between the two parties, procedures for providing mutual assistance to ensure proper enforcement of customs laws, the organisation of information exchange, and co-operation in preventing and investigating customs violations.


The implementation of this agreement is expected to improve the effectiveness of customs authorities in protecting the country’s economic interests.


The State Customs Committee of Belarus has been authorised to negotiate and sign the agreement.
