Brandon Hudspeth is the Principal Officer for the U.S. Consulate General Lagos, Nigeria.  He most recently served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Windhoek, Namibia.  Previously, Brandon served as the Political-Economic Section Chief at the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos, Nigeria.

Prior to his assignment in Nigeria, Brandon led civilian counter-narcotics, law enforcement, rule of law, and civil maritime assistance programming as the Director of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement at the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines. Other overseas assignments include as the Political-Economic Section Chief in Bamako, Mali; as the Nonimmigrant Visa Chief in Havana, Cuba; and as a Political-Military Officer in Kabul, Afghanistan. In Washington, he has served in the Operations Center, as a member of the Secretariat Staff for the Secretary of State, and as a Desk Officer in the Bureau of African Affairs.

Brandon is a native of Texas and a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Morehouse College, where he received a Bachelor’s in Political Science and Economics. He earned a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School. Brandon was also a Distinguished Graduate of the National Defense University, where he obtained a Master’s of Science in National Resource Strategy.
