International parliamentary delegations have begun arriving in the eastern city of Benghazi to take part in the second general conference of the Afro-Asian Parliamentary Council, scheduled for 15 and 16 June.

On Saturday, Benghazi’s Benina International Airport received a delegation from the African Parliamentary Union, including its Secretary-General Boubacar Idd Gado and conferences director Jose Tomas. A delegation from Somalia’s parliament also arrived, with members Said Mohamed, Zahra Ikal and Abdul Karim Hirsi.
On Friday evening, African Parliament member Said Ibrahim arrived to participate in the event.

The delegations were received at the airport by Ali al-Shami, head of protocol at the House of Representatives.
