Customs denies facilitating entry of Starlink internet devices shipment

The Customs Authority has denied issuing any instructions to facilitate the entry of a shipment of Starlink internet devices or to exempt them from duties and taxes.

It confirmed that the document circulating on social media platforms on August 6, attributed to the Authority regarding a shipment of satellite internet (Starlink), is forged and false. It was not issued by any of its departments or organizational units.

The Authority also emphasized that any official correspondence, decisions, or statements are only valid if issued through its official channels. It urged media outlets, online platforms, and citizens not to circulate the document or treat it as an official document, and to verify the authenticity of any documents or information from official sources.

The Customs Authority expressed its rejection of any attempts to assume its official status or use its institutional identity to create or publish forged documents and reserves the right to take legal action against any parties or individuals involved.
