MONROE COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) – A man from the Verona/Tupelo area has been arrested by the United States Marshals Task Force.
Kevin Rashad Crawford Jr., 37, was taken into custody earlier this week in connection with a shooting that took place in Wren back in May, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said on May 19, shots were fired into a home on Highway 45 North, leaving one man injured.
The other two women and four kids inside the home were not harmed.
Investigators found nearly 40 bullet holes in the home.
Crawford is charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, shooting into a dwelling (occupied), and aggravated assault-use of a deadly weapon.
Crawford is being held on a $150,000 bond in Monroe County and has a hold on him for the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
“We could not have done this without the help of the US Marshals Task Force,” said Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook in a news release. ”They are truly an asset to local law enforcement agencies throughout the state who don’t have the manpower, resources, training, nor jurisdiction to hunt down these fugitives once they go on the run. We are grateful for their willingness to work with us at MCSO.”
