Central Bank of Libya Governor Naji Issa met with Paul Soler, the French president’s special envoy to Libya, to discuss the Central Bank’s efforts to implement financial and economic reforms in coordination with relevant Libyan parties.
The meeting also addressed a number of financial and economic issues in Libya, as well as ways to strengthen cooperation between Libyan and French banking institutions, according to a statement published by the Central Bank on Facebook on Wednesday.
The meeting comes amid criticism from First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Fawzi Al-Nuwairi, who previously questioned Issa’s continued meetings with foreign officials despite having submitted a request to be relieved of his duties, before the competent legislative authority has ruled on the request.
