Berndt reviews unity and stability with Fezzan representatives
Jeremy Berndt, Senior Political Affairs Adviser for Libya at the US Embassy, met with representatives from the Fezzan region in Benghazi on Tuesday to discuss ways to promote unity and stability in Libya.
Berndt acknowledged the numerous challenges facing southern Libya while highlighting the region’s significant potential, stressing the important role Fezzan’s communities can play in shaping the country’s future, according to the US Embassy.
He said the United States would continue engaging with local communities across Libya and supporting Libyan efforts to achieve prosperity and lasting peace.
The meeting was part of ongoing US outreach to Libya’s various regions and communities to hear their views on the country’s future and discuss ways to strengthen national unity and stability.
