Authorities identify 27 more Storm Daniel victims in Derna

The General Authority for the Search and Identification of Missing Persons says it has identified 27 more victims of Storm Daniel in the city of Derna, following DNA analysis.

The newly identified victims include a Palestinian national, according to a statement published by the authority, which said the results had been verified by a specialised scientific committee.

The authority added that genetic analysis work carried out as part of the wider Storm Daniel case file continues to make progress, with laboratory teams working to match remains and confirm identities.

Officials say efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims, as part of a broader process aimed at providing closure for families affected by the disaster.
