‘Art Extravaganza’ to open | Brazil Times

For a limited time, The Gallery at Arts Illiana is hosting the “End of Summer Clearance Art Extravaganza” with original works that artists are ready to send to new homes.

Trevor Bridgewater, Gallery Manager, is looking forward to the second year of offering this “great opportunity to connect our community with local and regional artists in a fun, approachable way. We want people to come in, explore the gallery, discover an artist they may not know and maybe even take home an original piece of art. Most importantly, every purchase directly supports the artists who make our creative community what it is.”

Artists could submit up to three pieces with no entry fee and determine their pricing. Over 80 pieces are featured in this very eclectic and exciting exhibition and includes photography, paintings, sculptures, fiber art, mixed media and more. Some of those pieces were submitted by Clay County artists Michael Stevenson and Sheila Ter Meer, who each have three entries in the show.

The exhibition has a short run, from Aug. 21 through Sept. 18. The exhibition will be open to the public on Friday, Aug. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. Arts Illiana is located at 23 North Sixth Street in downtown Terre Haute. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays. The exhibition is funded, in part, by a grant through the Indiana Arts Commission.
