Foreign Ministry discusses preparations for Libya-Korea Forum on September 28

The Director of the International Cooperation Department at Libya’s Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Ashraf Al-Tayeb, discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the South Korean Embassy in Libya, Cho Woo-seok, preparations for the Libya-Korea Economic Cooperation Forum, scheduled to be held in Libya on September 28.

During Thursday’s meeting, Al-Tayeb welcomed Libya’s hosting of the forum and expressed readiness to complete the necessary arrangements in coordination with the Korean side and relevant Libyan authorities to ensure the event’s success and reflect the level of relations and cooperation between the two countries, according to a ministry statement on Facebook.

The meeting also addressed preparations for bilateral meetings between Libyan and Korean institutions and companies on the sidelines of the forum, with the aim of achieving practical and tangible results and opening broader prospects for economic and investment cooperation.

The two sides also discussed a proposal for the mutual exemption of diplomatic and special passport holders from visa requirements between Libya and South Korea. They stressed the importance of following up on the proposal through the relevant official channels to facilitate official visits and strengthen communication and cooperation between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue coordination and consultations to finalize preparations for the forum and ensure its successful organization and achievement of its objectives.
