Yemeni Embassy in Morocco Confirms Death of Citizen in Ceuta Migration Attempt

RABAT — The Yemeni Embassy in Morocco announced Tuesday the death of a Yemeni national who was among those involved in recent irregular migration attempts toward the Spanish-administered city of Ceuta.

In a statement posted on its official Facebook page, the embassy said it had verified the safety of previously reported missing Yemeni citizens, with the exception of one individual whose whereabouts remain unknown. 

Efforts are ongoing in coordination with Moroccan authorities, members of the Yemeni community, and other partners to locate him.

The embassy confirmed it is closely following the case, maintaining continuous communication with Moroccan officials and community representatives to gather complete information.

Regarding the deceased citizen, the embassy stated it is working directly with Moroccan authorities to finalize all legal and administrative procedures related to burial, scheduled for Wednesday in the city of Tetouan, in accordance with Moroccan regulations.

The embassy expressed appreciation for the cooperation of Moroccan authorities and the support provided by members of the Yemeni community and collaborators in supplying information. It pledged to keep families and the public informed of any verified updates through official channels.
