Vietnam, Brazil target 15 billion USD in bilateral trade by 2030

Brazilian Deputy Foreign Minister Susan Kleebank, along with representatives of the National Congress, government agencies, the diplomatic corps, Vietnamese community and other guests, attended the event.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Brazil Bui Van Nghi recalled the historic significance of the August Revolution and September 2, 1945, when President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence in Hanoi, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam and opening a new era of independence and freedom.

Highlighting the development of bilateral relations, Ambassador Bui Van Nghi said Brazil is playing an increasingly important role in Vietnam’s foreign policy.

Since the two countries upgraded their ties to a strategic partnership in November 2024, bilateral relations have entered a new phase of development.

Brazil is now Vietnam’s largest trading partner in South America, with two-way trade reaching nearly 5.5 billion USD in the first seven months of 2026. The two countries aim to raise bilateral trade to 15 billion USD by 2030.

Vietnam is ready to serve as a bridge for Brazil to strengthen relations with ASEAN and the wider Asia-Pacific region, while viewing Brazil as a key partner for expanding cooperation with South America and Latin America.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, guests visited a photo exhibition highlighting President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam’s revolutionary journey, as well as displays of Vietnamese agricultural products and processed foods.
