UAE discusses preventing escalation with Saudi Arabia and Iraq
UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan held talks with the heads of the foreign ministries of Saudi Arabia and Iraq on preventing a wider regional conflict. This was reported by Anadolu Agency.
Contacts with Riyadh
During a phone call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the sides discussed developments in the region and efforts to contain escalation. According to Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry, they also stressed the importance of coordinating positions and strengthening cooperation among Gulf states to protect their security and interests.
Talks with Iraq
Separately, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan spoke with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. According to Iraq’s Foreign Ministry, the officials discussed regional security, developments in Yemen, and Iraq’s relations with the Gulf states.

The ministers stressed the need to avoid further escalation and resolve disputes through peaceful means and negotiations. Hussein also reaffirmed Baghdad’s commitment to regional stability and dialogue.
The contacts took place amid heightened regional tensions following drone attacks on Saudi Arabia’s east-west oil pipeline. Riyadh said the attacks were carried out from Iraqi territory. Baghdad, for its part, said it was taking measures to prevent its territory from being used to threaten neighboring countries.
