The prediction by the psychic who correctly predicted three consecutive World Cup champions is setting the internet ablaze
With 13 days to go before the start of the 2026 World Cup, a prediction has once again taken social media by storm and put soccer fans on high alert.
The man in the spotlight is Michael Bruno, a Brazilian psychic known as the “World Cup Psychic,” who gained notoriety after correctly predicting the winners of the 2010, 2014, and 2018 World Cups. And, as expected, his prediction for this edition is already making waves.
Who will lift the World Cup trophy this time around?
In just under two weeks, millions of fans will be eagerly anticipating a new edition of the FIFA World Cup, but, according to the Brazilian clairvoyant, it already has a winner.
In an interview with Globo Esporte, Michael Bruno stated that Portugal will face Lamine Yamal’s Spain in the final, but that it will be Roberto Martínez’s team that is crowned champion, with Cristiano Ronaldo as the tournament’s standout player.
Since 2022, I’ve been announcing the next champion. Since then, I’ve been saying that Portugal will be the world champion.
Bruno is known in his country for correctly predicting the champions of 2010, 2014, and 2018. Even in 2022, he pointed out that France would be the team to beat in Qatar, but predicted that they would face Brazil and that Brazil would claim its sixth title; however, France was eliminated by Croatia in the quarterfinals, and Argentina won its third title.
Looking ahead to this new edition, according to Bruno, the contenders will be France, Spain, England, Argentina, Portugal, and Brazil. Even so, Bruno believes that Portugal is better prepared to win the title, especially given the performance its captain will deliver in his sixth and final tournament.
Meanwhile, he also predicted that Lionel Messi and Argentina will be eliminated in the quarterfinals, though he did not reveal which team will be the one to knock out the reigning world champions and clarified that this scenario depends on the World Cup bracket.
On the other hand, he didn’t offer much hope to his compatriots either: he maintained that Brazil will be eliminated before the semifinals and expressed concern for Neymar Jr. (who is currently injured and may miss the pre-tournament friendlies and the World Cup debut):
“I don’t think Neymar is 100% ready to play in this World Cup. And if he plays, once again, the national team will be eliminated before the semifinals, because the team will revolve around him, repeating the tactical mistake of 2022,” he said.
As expected, the prediction went viral online and sparked a wave of debates and mixed reactions. While some users believe in the track record of the “World Cup psychic,” others consider it merely a soccer coincidence or a claim that had already been made before, according to fans.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
