TechnipFMC readies 200th subsea tree for Guyana projects – Brazil Energy Insight

Sept. 2 (oilnow.gy) TechnipFMC has reached delivery readiness for its 200th subsea tree for offshore projects in Guyana.

The company announced the milestone on September 1. It credited the expertise and collaboration of its team for supporting ExxonMobil Guyana’s offshore developments.

“Recently, we reached a major milestone with the manufacturing and delivery readiness of the 200th subsea tree for projects in Guyana, further strengthening our track record with advancing offshore developments,” TechnipFMC stated.

The latest subsea trees are built on the company’s Subsea 2.0® platform. The technology allows greater equipment standardization across several developments.

“With its compact and configurable design, the platform provides ExxonMobil Guyana with the flexibility needed to support evolving project requirements,” the company outlined.

The milestone builds on TechnipFMC’s work across all seven ExxonMobil-led developments approved in Guyana’s Stabroek Block.

TechnipFMC received its first subsea production system contract for Liza 1 in 2017. It subsequently secured awards for Liza 2 in 2018, Payara in 2020, Yellowtail in 2021, Uaru in 2023, and Whiptail in 2024.

Hammerhead became the company’s seventh greenfield project award from ExxonMobil Guyana in September 2025.

“TechnipFMC has been awarded all of the operator’s subsea production systems in Guyana since the first award in 2017,” Chief Executive Officer Doug Pferdehirt stated in October 2025.

The Hammerhead contract covers project management, engineering, and manufacturing. TechnipFMC will supply subsea trees, manifolds, associated controls, and equipment supporting oil production and water injection.

The company’s earlier work includes a subsea production system for Payara comprising 41 enhanced vertical deepwater trees, six flexible risers, 10 manifolds, associated controls, and tie-in equipment.

TechnipFMC’s Yellowtail scope includes the project’s subsea production system. The company received authorization to proceed with that work and secured an additional contract for six high-pressure, high-temperature flexible risers in May 2022.

The Uaru contract covers 44 subsea trees and 12 manifolds. It was ExxonMobil Guyana’s first project to use TechnipFMC’s Subsea 2.0® system.

For Whiptail, TechnipFMC is providing 48 subsea trees, 12 manifolds, associated controls, tooling, and tie-in equipment.
