Takala briefs British Ambassador on position regarding 4+4 talks

High Council of State head Mohammed Takala briefed UK Ambassador to Libya Martin Reynolds on his position regarding the outcomes of the 4+4 mini-dialogue committee meetings, which were signed under the auspices of the UN Support Mission in Libya last week.

The meeting, held at the High Council of State headquarters in Tripoli on Tuesday, also covered the latest political developments.

Takala stressed that any electoral process should be based on a clear legal and constitutional framework, conducted through the relevant Libyan institutions and national consensus, to ensure free and fair elections that bring the transitional period to an end.

The two sides also discussed Libyan-British relations and ways to strengthen them, emphasizing continued communication and consultation on issues of mutual interest, as well as support for efforts to achieve stability and unify state institutions.
