Tunisian side CS Sfaxien have arrived in Nigeria ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup first-leg clash against Shooting Stars on Saturday.
The North African club departed Tunis on Tuesday and arrived in Nigeria early Wednesday as they stepped up preparations for the preliminary-round encounter.
Sfaxien will take on the Oluyole Warriors at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, with the visitors seeking a favourable result to take into the return leg in Tunisia.
Shooting Stars will be hoping to make home advantage count against their Tunisian opponents after opening their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Inter Lagos last Friday.
The win handed coach Salisu Yusuf a positive start to the new league season and provided the Oluyole Warriors with momentum ahead of their continental assignment.
Sfaxien have also made a winning start to their domestic campaign, defeating Esperance Zarzis 2-1 in their latest Tunisian league fixture.
Saturday’s encounter will be the first leg of the tie, with the return fixture scheduled to take place in Sfax on September 13.
Shooting Stars will be seeking to secure a strong first-leg advantage in Abeokuta before travelling to Tunisia for the decisive second leg.
The winner over the two legs will advance to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
