Palestinian Reports: Several Wounded in Israeli Strike on Gaza Refugee Camp

Here are Wednesday’s latest updates:

■ Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said it will soon announce the precise coordinates and boundaries of a restricted area in the Strait of Hormuz, which it said extends from Chabahar to parts of the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea.

■ Several merchant vessels in the northern Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman came under “disabling fire” as part of ongoing military activity in the region, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said, adding that it could not yet confirm “any casualties or environmental impact.”

■ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has instructed his lawyers to sue Haaretz, journalist Shlomi Eldar and “other individuals” over a report that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed warned him about a possible Hamas attack before October 7, but that he failed to alert the IDF and Shin Bet.

■ Protesters put up an installation Wednesday morning against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on a beach in Tel Aviv. The protest comes against the backdrop of a Haaretz investigation published Tuesday revealing that, in September 2023, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed called Netanyahu to warn him ahead of Hamas’ October 7 attack, but Netanyahu took no action.

■ Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said on Wednesday they attacked two U.S. vessels and eight oil tankers in the Gulf in response to what they called a U.S. attack on five Iranian tankers, Iranian state media reported, citing a statement from the group.

■ Jordan’s air defense systems have destroyed 18 of 20 ballistic missiles originating from Iranian territory, the state news agency reported on Wednesday, citing the armed forces.
