Namibia and Angola Strengthen Digital Cooperation to Drive Transformation

Namibia and Angola have strengthened their bilateral cooperation in the digital sector through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on advancing information and communication technology (ICT) and media development. The agreement was signed by Namibia’s Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, and Angola’s Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Mário Oliveira.

The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration across several strategic areas, including ICT and media development, the exchange of expertise and best practices, capacity-building initiatives, and closer cooperation between professionals and institutions in both countries. Cybersecurity also features prominently within the agreement, reflecting the increasing importance of securing digital infrastructure and strengthening resilience against emerging cyber threats.

The partnership underscores the shared commitment of Namibia and Angola to leveraging technology as a catalyst for sustainable socio-economic development. By deepening cooperation in the digital sphere, both countries aim to accelerate digital transformation efforts, enhance connectivity, and create an enabling environment for innovation and investment.
