Morocco’s U20, U17 Women’s Teams Depart for Taranto 2026

Casablanca – Morocco’s U20 men’s and U17 women’s national football teams left Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca today, heading to Taranto, Italy, ahead of their participation in the 20th Mediterranean Games.

The Games are scheduled to take place from August 21 to September 3, with Morocco among the countries competing across multiple sporting disciplines.

The two Moroccan football teams are part of the country’s 120-athlete delegation, which will compete across 18 sports at the event. The Moroccan National Olympic Committee previously confirmed that the delegation includes 72 men and 48 women.

In the men’s football competition, Morocco’s U20 team has been drawn into Group A, alongside Tunisia, Türkiye, and North Macedonia.

Morocco will also be represented in the women’s football tournament by its U17 national team. The Atlas Lionesses have been placed in Group A, where they will face Spain and Portugal.

The Moroccan delegations gathered at a hotel near Mohammed V International Airport before departing for Italy, with players and technical staff receiving guidance ahead of the competition.

The two national teams will now turn their attention to their respective campaigns in Taranto, seeking strong performances while representing Morocco at the regional multi-sport event.
