MENA Golf Tour opens entries for three Qualifying Schools, confirms Egypt start to 2026/27 season
Entries are open for the 2026/27 MENA Golf Tour Qualifying Schools, and for the first time there are three of them – two in the UK, and, for the first time in the Tour’s history, one in the United States as well. According to the Tour, a significant rise in interest from players over the summer has been the catalyst behind this announcement.
Where and when to qualify
The three schools will run in quick succession throughout the month of October:
1–2 October – Qualifying School (UK), Dalmahoy, Edinburgh
13–15 October – Qualifying School (USA), Slammer & Squire, Florida
20–21 October – Qualifying School (UK), RAC, Epsom
The top 10 finishers at each of the schools then earn full exempt status for the season – the only route that guarantees a start in each of the 2026/27 events. In positive news for players who finish 11th-20th, finishing in these places won’t mean they’re out of contention, as they’ll be able to pick up playing opportunities through the Tour’s published exemption categories, full details of which are on the MENA Golf Tour website.
A season that starts fast, in Egypt
The calendar itself kicks off with three tournaments in Egypt before Christmas, opening on 28 November, with further events scheduled on 3 and 8 December. The rest of the 2026/27 schedule is still to be confirmed, but the Tour has committed to a minimum of 12 events and at least $1.2 million in total prize money for the season.
The numbers that haven’t moved
None of the Tour’s cost structure has changed for 2026/27. Entry remains $550 per regular event, annual membership stays at $995, and every tournament carries a minimum $100,000 prize fund – with some purses set to run higher.
Why the Tour’s pathway credentials matter here
Robert MacIntyre, Thriston Lawrence and major champion Matthew Fitzpatrick all played early-career golf on the Tour before moving on to bigger stages. Tour Chairman and Commissioner Keith Waters framed the season’s structure – the Egypt opener, the 12-event minimum, the unchanged costs – as giving players enough certainty to plan a season around, calling the US Qualifying School addition a direct answer to summer demand.
