Man City Respond To ‘Guilty’ Verdict On 115…

Premier League giants Manchester City have released an official statement after being found guilty of breaching financial rules.

News surfaced on Friday evening that the Cityzens had been found guilty of breaking ‘majority’ of the 115 charges of breaching the league’s financial rules between 2009 and 2018.

City, however, responded on Friday evening despite no punishment being announced.

“The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality,” A club spokesperson told the Athletic.

“As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023.

“The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair minded regulator, free from partisan influence.”

Reports in England claim that the eight-time Premier League winners are major risk of facing a points deduction.

In the 2023/24 season, Everton were deducted six points for PSR breaches while Nottingham Forest were docked four points for the same offence.
