A US military report revealed that a Libyan military delegation comprising commanders from eastern and western Libya visited the US Ramstein Air Base in Germany from August 3 to 7 to learn about military airlift capabilities and the operation of C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.
According to the report, issued by US Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, the visit included tours of several military units and briefings on their missions, as well as an overview of the training, technical support and logistics systems associated with operating an airlift fleet and managing military airfields.
The report said the Libyan delegation was briefed on airlift planning and airfield operations, in addition to maintenance, inspection and technical support procedures required to maintain the readiness of C-130J aircraft and conduct tactical airlift missions.
It added that the visit was aimed at strengthening operational cooperation between the two sides, improving interoperability between Libyan and US forces, and supporting efforts to develop more integrated Libyan air capabilities.
The report noted that the visit was part of broader efforts to support Libyan military capacity-building and enhance the ability of the country’s security and military institutions to carry out their missions more effectively.
