US, Tripoli Embassy welcomes progress made by Libyan parties in Tunisia

The US Embassy in Libya has welcomed the progress made by the Libyan parties in Tunisia towards reaching an agreement on electoral laws and the High National Elections Commission. The embassy said in a statement published on its X-linked account that the progress made by the parties in Libya represents an important step toward a credible path leading to successful national elections.

The embassy reaffirmed in its statement that the United States will continue to support dialogue among the Libyan parties and work with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) and international partners to help Libyans reach a sustainable political solution and establish a unified executive authority capable of governing all of Libya.
