Libya Border Guard Agency Enhances Security in Ghadames Sector

Libya’s Tripoli based Border Guard Agency reported yesterday that work continues establishing and developing strategic security deployments in the Ghadames border sector.

It said this comes as part of its plans to enhance border security and improve the efficiency of its monitoring and field deployment system.

These deployments aim to strengthen the security presence and the ability to monitor and respond, keeping pace with the nature of security challenges.

The deployments are also being supported with the essential requirements for operational sustainability, including solar power systems, wired and wireless communication equipment, and the provision of drinking water sources through the construction of strategic wells.

The Agency added that this step is part of a comprehensive vision to develop the western border security system and enhance the Border Guard Agency’s capabilities in monitoring and confronting illegal activities, combating transnational organized crime and illegal immigration, thus contributing to the consolidation of security and stability and the protection of national borders.
