Free agent Bamba Dieng will not be joining Lazio this summer following issues that have come up during the player’s medical tests, multiple outlets in Italy are reporting.
Lazio call off Dieng signing
Dieng, 26, is a free agent after seeing his contract with Lorient expire at the end of the 2025-26 season. He has previously had stints with Angers, Marseille and Diambars in Senegal.
The 24-time Senegal international had been in the Italian capital on Thursday for intensive medical testing ahead of a proposed move to Lazio. The Biancocelesti were aware of the player’s medical history and there were already concerns regarding his knee before the tests took place.

Now, according to Gianluca Di Marzio and various others, Lazio have decided not to proceed with the signing of Dieng following his medical tests in Rome on Thursday.
Dieng had been hoping to sign a three-year contract with wages of €1.5m per season and a signing on bonus of €500,000.
