Iraqs opposition to extending the presence of coalition forces after September 30
Al-Aboudi said in a press conference that the Iraqi government is closely following regional developments and that Iraq will not be part of the conflicts.
He also emphasized that the coordination process for the withdrawal of coalition forces and the handover of positions to Iraqi forces is underway.
In another part of his statements, the Iraqi government spokesman said: The country’s government is completing measures related to the monopoly of weapons, their organization and the integration of decision-making.
He added that the talks with the armed groups are “positive” and that the case will be concluded before September 30, a process that he said will be a transitional phase based on cooperation and mutual interests.
Al-Aboudi also said about the fight against corruption: the government will continue to pursue the accused to “dry up the sources of corruption.”
He emphasized: “Judicial orders are independent decisions and one of the pillars of the government, and their results for the fight against corruption are evident.”
Al-Aboudi added: “The government announces that the remaining criteria for the fight against corruption have not been met for years.”
He concluded by saying that the value of the returned assets reflects financial data that we have not heard about in the past years.
