Government approves official tool to support Brazil EUDR compliance
Brazil’s foreign trade chamber Camex has approved a resolution creating an official socio-environmental analysis report that may be used to validate export requirements for Brazilian agricultural products.
The measure could become an important instrument for Brazil EUDR compliance, especially for exporters of soybeans, beef, coffee, timber, palm oil, rubber and cocoa. These sectors are among those covered by the European Union Deforestation Regulation, known as the EUDR, which is set to take effect at the end of this year.
In the first half of 2026, Brazilian beef exports to EU countries rose 15.9% from the previous year. That upward trajectory could be sharply disrupted by the bloc’s new trade barriers.

The report, formally called the Socio-Environmental Analysis Report for Export Operations, will be issued through the AgroBrasil + Sustentável platform, or AB+S. It will serve as an official validation tool for assessing socio-environmental requirements in Brazilian agricultural export operations.
The resolution, approved by Camex’s Strategic Council and published in Brazil’s official gazette on Wednesday, September 9, also states that the AB+S report does not prevent other official databases from being used to certify socio-environmental requirements for exports.
Although the resolution does not specifically mention the EUDR, that is its main purpose. The EU regulation will bar access to the European market for seven commodities and some derived products, such as chocolate, tires and furniture, if they were produced in areas deforested after the end of 2020, even when the clearing was legal under Brazilian law.
The report will provide exporters with data on origin, legality and the absence of deforestation in the production of goods shipped to the EU. It will function as an official certificate from the Brazilian government to support entry of those products into the bloc.
The AB+S platform cross-checks several official databases and provides information on the environmental, social and corporate governance of rural properties and their production. The system is designed to help exporters meet the requirements of the EU anti-deforestation law.
The EUDR certification feature went live late last year. At the time, Brazil’s agriculture ministry said the Production Area Export Authorization service would allow farmers to verify whether their areas meet “critical requirements for exports to foreign markets that impose socio-environmental compliance barriers.”
