FC Twente Extend Contract of Moroccan Winger Younes Taha Until 2029

Meknes – Moroccan winger Younes Taha has committed his long-term future to FC Twente by signing a new deal at De Grolsch Veste on Monday.

The 23-year-old attacker’s agreement keeps him at the club until the summer of 2029, with FC Twente holding the option to extend it for an additional year.

Speaking in an official club statement following the signing, Taha reflected on his growth and expressed his enthusiasm for the future at FC Twente.

“I am really enjoying my time at FC Twente. The loan spell last season at FC Groningen did me a lot of good. I played a lot of matches. That makes you a better player,” Taha said.

“I have brought that experience with me to FC Twente. Now I want to take the next step. This new contract makes that possible. I am really looking forward to the coming seasons at De Grolsch Veste with this amazing crowd,” he added.

FC Twente manager Erik ten Hag also welcomed the news, noting that the club had been eager to secure the young attacker’s long-term future after witnessing his steady growth and impact on the pitch.

“I have had a lot of contact with Younes and his management over the past period. We have always intended to extend Younes’ contract, because we believe he is not finished here yet,” the Dutch manager said.

“We know what potential Younes has; that has been confirmed once again in the last few matches. It is great that the new contract is now in place. We are convinced that Younes can continue to develop here and that he will help us realize our ambitions,” he added.

Taha originally joined FC Twente from PEC Zwolle in 2023 before spending the 2025/26 campaign on loan at FC Groningen. His productive spell with Groningen saw him tally six goals and ten assists across 33 appearances, paving the way for his return to Enschede.
