US goods trade surplus with Morocco reaches $2.83 billion through July

The United States recorded a $2.83 billion goods trade surplus with Morocco in the first seven months of 2026, up from $2.17 billion during the same period a year earlier, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Economic Analysis.

U.S. exports of goods to Morocco rose to $4.07 billion from January through July, compared with $3.25 billion during the same period in 2025.

U.S. imports from Morocco also increased, reaching $1.24 billion through July, up from $1.08 billion a year earlier.

The U.S. trade surplus with Morocco widened in July alone to $501 million, compared with $288.4 million in July 2025.

U.S. exports to Morocco totaled $686.3 million in July, up from $444.8 million a year earlier. Imports from Morocco reached $185.3 million, compared with $156.4 million in July 2025.

On a cost, insurance and freight, or CIF, basis, U.S. imports from Morocco totaled $1.32 billion through July, compared with $1.13 billion during the same period last year.

The increase in the bilateral surplus came as the value of U.S. exports to Morocco grew by about 25% year over year during the first seven months, while imports from Morocco rose by roughly 14%.

Globally, U.S. exports of goods and services totaled $310.7 billion in July, down $6.6 billion from June. Imports reached $399.3 billion, an increase of $10.8 billion.

The overall U.S. goods and services trade deficit consequently widened to $88.6 billion in July. The goods deficit increased by $17.6 billion to $119.6 billion, while the services surplus rose slightly to $31 billion.
