Ex-Bucs Star Makes Perfect Start For Promot…

Zimbabwe international Marshall Munetsi started his campaign in fine style after returning to England with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Ligue 1 side Paris FC, where he registered four goals and two assists in 14 appearances.

Munetsi is now back with Wolves who are aiming to return to the Premier League, but they started their campaign with a 2-2 draw against Blackburn Rovers on Friday night.

The former Orlando Pirates midfielder got the ball rolling on the night with his first goal of the season in the 18th minute.

New Wolves coach Cesar Peixoto was ultimately disappointed not to walk away with three points on the night.

“I wanted the three points all the time. I think in the first half we were the better team, we created the better chances, had more of the ball and attacked more,” he told the club’s official website.

“In the second half, when we conceded the goal, I think we started playing more with our hearts than with our heads. We lost some organisation and that made things more difficult for us. Then we had injuries and a lot of things happened during the game.

“But even with one player less, the players showed a big heart and fought until the end, which is what I want. It’s one point, but we were fighting for three points all the time.”
