The story

The Boks had plenty of star power in the stands as they battled the All Blacks at a packed FNB Stadium on Saturday, with three Bafana Bafana icons and newly appointed coach Pitso Mosimane among those backing the world champions.

South Africa edged New Zealand 29-24 in another thrilling chapter of rugby’s greatest rivalry, moving 2-1 ahead in the series as an 85 000-strong crowd transformed the Calabash into a wall of noise.

Among the supporters were Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana legends Lucas Radebe, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Itumeleng Khune, all familiar faces at FNB Stadium from their days representing Amakhosi and the national team.

Khune attended the blockbuster fixture with his partner, Sphelele Makhunga, who shared a glimpse of their stylish date night from a suite. The couple sported Springbok lifestyle jerseys as they soaked up the atmosphere and celebrated another famous home victory.

Tshabalala, meanwhile, was hosted by Betway at a venue that holds plenty of personal significance for the former Chiefs captain. The 2010 FIFA World Cup icon shared snaps from the occasion, including moments with Khune and enthusiastic fans.

“Rhoo” also documented a wholesome family outing from the match, sharing a photograph with Springbok World Cup-winning front-rower Frans Malherbe.

For the Bafana contingent, it was a nostalgic return to a stadium where they created plenty of memories in black and gold and national colours. This time, however, the focus was firmly on backing the Bokke as they produced another dramatic victory against their fierce rivals.
