Egypt’s ICT minister, parliamentary committee meet over mobile registration security

Egypt’s ICT minister Raafat Hendy met with members of the parliamentary ICT committee alongside Mohamed Shamroukh, executive president of the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) to discuss recent reports of unauthorized mobile line registrations and the regulatory actions underway to address the issue. During the meeting, officials reviewed NTRA’s response to complaints and outlined new measures designed to tighten controls over Sim card sales and activation.
