Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting in the Jordanian capital, Amman, to discuss the latest developments in Libya.
The two ministers reaffirmed the importance of preserving Libya’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, supporting its institutions, and advancing a comprehensive Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political settlement that would pave the way for simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections at the earliest opportunity.
According to a statement by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty also stressed the importance of continued coordination among Libya’s neighboring countries and building on the outcomes of the trilateral neighboring states mechanism to support security and stability in Libya and the wider region.
