An archaeological inscription dating to the early Roman period has been discovered on a limestone block in the Iblakhna area, east of Shahat.
The discovery was made after a citizen reported the inscribed stone to the Shahat Antiquities Office. A team of researchers examined the artifact and confirmed that it bears Greek inscriptions.
The stone was transferred to the Shahat Antiquities Office for preservation, while specialists will conduct further examination, documentation and analysis to determine its historical and archaeological significance.
Part of the inscription is missing or damaged, requiring detailed study of the remaining text to document and decipher it.
