Deadly brawl in Italy: Suspect who fled to Morocco arrested on his return

After four months in Morocco, a 22-year-old man has been arrested by Italian police over his alleged involvement in a fatal brawl that took place last April in Induno Olona. Citing local media on Thursday, the Varese prosecutor’s office said he is suspected of being the last of three individuals involved in the fight that cost Enzo Ambrosino his life. Questioned by investigators, the suspect denied any role in the events that led to the victim’s death, saying he had fled «out of fear».

The young man landed at Malpensa Airport from Morocco on Tuesday, August 11. He was questioned by the investigating judge, who rejected a request by the defense lawyers for him to be placed under house arrest and ordered that he be held in pretrial detention at Busto Arsizio prison.

In the same case, another man and his son have already been charged with murder.
