It was a game of two halves as second-half goals from Luke Baartman and Mduduzi Shabalala helped Chiefs recover from the poor opening 45 minutes.
“We knew it was going to be a tough game, it’s a good team. The first half was maybe tactical at halftime and in the second half we accepted to be more free and play forward and to run forward,” Da Cruz told SuperSport after the game.
“It is very important, it forces us to create chances also when the fans come to the stadium so it’s what we try to do every time. But sometimes we arrive, sometimes we don’t arrive,” noted the coach.
Da Cruz made a number of changes for the encounter and he feels the players coming did well to maintain the level he wants.
“But I’m also very happy because the players who started they permitted the team to keep the same level. So, I trust this players and we have a squad full of players and all the players who are now injured will come back so it’s very important for the mindset of everyone,” da Cruz said.
