COLUMN: What we can learn from the invasion of Iraq in 2003 | Opinion

According to the administration of President George W. Bush, the case for invading Iraq in March 2003 was built on three basic premises: Iraq had weapons of mass destruction; it was developing more of them; and it was failing to comply with its disarmament obligations under a series of United Nations Security Council resolutions. All of these premises were based on scraps of unreliable information. None of them was true.

After 9/11, then Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld talked about draining the swamp. I guess that also meant things related or not. The U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 was Bush running a full house off a pair.
