CMC Takes Grassroots Support to Gardnersville

By Lincoln G. Peters

MONROVIA, Liberia: The Citizens Movement for Change (CMC) has launched a community support initiative aimed at addressing grassroots challenges and improving livelihoods in Montserrado County.

Over the weekend, the CMC, led by Representative Musa H. Bility, donated business umbrellas, scholarships, cash and other relief items to residents of several communities in Gardnersville, District #12, Montserrado County.

The party also pledged to provide Starlink internet service as part of efforts to improve connectivity and expand access to education and information.

The assistance, valued at L$200,000, forms part of the CMC’s ongoing efforts to provide practical support to communities and residents facing immediate economic and social challenges.

The items were distributed to various community groups and individuals, particularly small business owners, local traders and students.

Among the items donated were 10 chairs and 10 sets of market tools intended to support petty traders and small business operators.

Scholarships were also awarded to students in need to help them continue their education.

The Starlink internet pledge, according to the party, is intended to improve connectivity and help bridge the digital divide by expanding access to online education and information.

Speaking during the distribution, CMC National Vice Chairperson for Mobilization and Recruitment Musa Kamara said the initiative was designed to improve lives at the community level through practical and nonpartisan assistance.

“This is about putting something in the hands of mothers in the market and brothers and sisters in school in order to improve lives across the country,” Kamara said.

He said the CMC remains committed to ensuring that citizens have access to opportunities and resources needed to improve their livelihoods.

“This is not just a donation; it’s a step towards building a more equitable and prosperous society,” he added.
