ClarkeModet Colombia has appointed attorney and chemist Alexander Agudelo as its new inventions director, the area through which the firm provides comprehensive advisory services in patent protection and management, technology transfer, and the strategic management of intangible assets.
Alexander Agudelo brings more than 25 years of experience in intellectual property. Throughout his career, he has served as an examiner at Colombia’s Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC), the country’s patent and trademark office, as well as patent director and partner at firms such as Wolf Méndez Abogados and OlarteMoure. He has also held positions within the pharmaceutical industry, including at Merck.
In parallel with his professional practice, he has maintained a distinguished academic career as a lecturer and educator. He has collaborated with Universidad Sergio Arboleda and Universidad EAN, and has participated in specialized programs organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), where he trains patent drafting professionals from across Latin America.
According to Juan Felipe Acosta-Sánchez, ClarkeModet’s regional managing director for the NOLA region and country manager for Colombia, “Alexander brings exceptional experience that will further strengthen our ability to support clients operating in highly innovative sectors.
