Lesotho national team coach Bob Mafoso has turned to Pitso Mosimane as he continues to build strategic partnerships ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

A week after courting Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Likuena mentor led a delegation that paid a courtesy call to the former Mamelodi Sundowns tactician in Johannesburg over the weekend.
The South African was brought in for a collaboration role with the Lesotho Football Association counting on his expertise.
Mosimane Meets Lesotho Delegation
In a statement, the Lesotho Football Association confirmed the talks centred on continental football, technical development and potential areas of partnership with Mosimane’s academy.
“Discussions during the meeting focused on continental football, technical development matters, and potential areas of collaboration between the Lesotho Football Association and the Pitso Mosimane Youth Football,” read the FA’s statement.
“The engagement forms part of LeFA’s ongoing efforts to benchmark, learn, and build strategic partnerships that will contribute to the growth and development of football in Lesotho at both national team and youth level,” it concluded.
The delegation comprised assistant coach Motolo Makepe, fitness coach Mosa Moseneke and media and stakeholder manager Mikia Kalati. At the same time, Mosimane was accompanied by officials from his management firm MT Sports Marketing.
Mosimane’s Bafana Links
The meeting comes at a pivotal time for Mosimane, who remains the leading candidate to replace Hugo Broos as Bafana Bafana coach following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Mosimane’s immediate task will be preparing Bafana for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, with Lesotho also drawn in Group A alongside Morocco, Gabon and Niger.
