Abdellah Ouazzane Opens Up on His International Future

Casablanca – Abdellah Ouazzane has made no secret of his ambition to represent Morocco at senior level, with the 17-year-old encouraged by the presence of Mohamed Ouahbi during Ajax’s European fixture against Sion.

The Morocco head coach was in attendance to watch the teenager, who has already progressed through the national team’s youth ranks.

Asked about Ouahbi’s presence, Ouazzane confirmed that the coach had travelled to watch the match, adding that he remains focused on earning his place among Morocco’s senior internationals.

The Ajax midfielder has represented Morocco since the Under-15 level and sees the senior team as the natural next step in his international development.

“I started with the Morocco U-15 national team, and ultimately, you aspire to reach the senior national team. I think this step is getting closer and closer,” Ouazzane said.

The youngster was also asked whether he could receive a senior call-up in the near future.

“I hope so. I will wait and see what happens. I will continue giving my best, and who knows, maybe I will find myself on the squad list,” he added.

Ouazzane’s comments come after an encouraging period at Ajax, during which he has begun to attract greater attention for his performances at club level.

His latest European appearance further highlighted his potential, as he contributed two assists in Ajax’s 5-3 victory over Sion.

With Ouahbi now closely monitoring his development, Ouazzane will look to maintain his progress in the Netherlands as he continues his pursuit of a place in Morocco’s senior squad.
