Morocco and India to Establish Joint Commission on AI and Language Technologies
The discussions took place on August 24, 2026, in Rabat, where Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, met with Jitin Prasada, India’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology.
Morocco and India are exploring stronger cooperation in digital transformation, artificial intelligence (AI), digital public infrastructure and the development of digital skills and talent.
The discussions took place on August 24, 2026, in Rabat, where Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, met with Jitin Prasada, India’s Minister of State for Trade and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology.
The meeting focused on opportunities to deepen bilateral collaboration across emerging digital technologies and public-sector digitalisation. Both sides agreed to establish a joint commission, with an initial focus on language technologies and their potential to improve interactions between citizens and government administrations.
The proposed cooperation would explore solutions capable of supporting multiple languages, language variants and dialects, potentially making public services more accessible to citizens across different linguistic communities.
The officials also discussed opportunities for collaboration around the JAZARI Institutes and their work in artificial intelligence. The discussions build on an earlier meeting between the two officials in New Delhi in February 2026, held on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit.
The latest engagement underscores Morocco and India’s intention to translate their digital cooperation into concrete partnerships, particularly in AI, digital public infrastructure, language technologies and digital talent development.
