Ex-Club Brugge baller Shandre Campbell has marked another important milestone in his fledgling KV Kortrijk career after finding the back of the net for the first time in his new colours.

The 21-year-old winger scored his maiden goal for De Kerels in Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Royal Charleroi, adding a personal bright spot to another difficult result for the newly promoted side.

Campbell has started all three of Kortrijk’s opening Jupiler Pro League fixtures, underlining the growing trust he is earning in Belgium as he adapts to a more regular starting role.

While the defeat extended Kortrijk’s difficult start to life back in the top flight, Campbell was able to take something positive from the outing as he celebrated his breakthrough goal.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, the former Club Brugge attacker wrote:

“[I am] proud to have scored my first goal for this wonderful club. Now we work harder as a team to achieve greater ambitions.”

The goal represents another encouraging step in Campbell’s European journey, particularly as he looks to establish himself as a key player after making the move from Club Brugge.

Now, attention turns to another major test, with Campbell and Kortrijk preparing to face Belgian giants Anderlecht in their next league assignment, with hopes of earning their first win of the season and getting off the bottom of the table.
