The Public Prosecution announced measures to halt the consequences of a case involving the falsification of civil registry data after investigations uncovered irregularities in the management of the family registration system at the Majdoul Civil Registry Office, resulting in the issuance of 3,090 national identification numbers based on forged data.
The prosecution said the numbers were used to issue official documents to individuals who relied on them to obtain citizenship rights. Within the jurisdiction of the Sabha Court of Appeal, investigators have taken steps to suspend the forged national numbers and trace the benefits obtained through them.
Investigators also questioned one of the suspects who had been arrested before ordering his pretrial detention pending further investigation. Arrest and summons orders were issued for other suspects who failed to appear before investigators.
