Zelenskyy Appoints Kenya Ambassador as Ukraine’s Envoy to Somalia | Ukraine news

One Ukrainian diplomat will now cover three countries, expanding Kyiv’s diplomatic reach across a strategically important region of Africa.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed Yurii Tokar, who serves as Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Kenya, as Ukraine’s non-resident ambassador to the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The relevant decision was formalized by Presidential Decree No. 717/2026, published on August 11.

To appoint Yurii Liubomyrovych Tokar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Kenya, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Federal Republic of Somalia, concurrently

– states Presidential Decree of Ukraine No. 717/2026

Yurii Tokar also represents Ukraine in the Comoros

On July 15, Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Yurii Tokar as Ukraine’s non-resident ambassador to the Union of the Comoros. The diplomat will therefore represent Ukraine in Kenya, Somalia, and the Union of the Comoros.
