Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The Yemeni government condemned on Monday what it described as “repeated hostile Iranian attacks” targeting the State of Kuwait, considering them a violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and a threat to the region’s security and stability.
The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated in a release that these attacks constitute “a dangerous escalation that undermines efforts for regional and international calm and peace,” expressing its full solidarity with Kuwait in facing these threats.
The ministry added that Iran’s continued “policy of aggression, use of militias, and cross-border threats” constitutes a violation of international law, the UN Charter, and principles of good neighborliness, and increases tension and instability in the region.
The statement affirmed Yemen’s standing alongside Kuwait—”leadership, government, and people”—and its support for all measures taken to preserve Kuwait’s security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry called on the international community and the Security Council to assume their legal and moral responsibilities and take a firm stance to deter what it called “repeated Iranian aggressions,” contributing to the protection of the region’s security and stability and avoiding further escalation.
