Successful Rare Birth of Quadruplets in Marib Governorate, Eastern Yemen

Marib Governorate (eastern Yemen) witnessed a rare birth of quadruplets on Tuesday, via a cesarean section at the state-run Kara General Hospital.

Health media reported that a medical team at “Kara” Hospital succeeded in performing a rare and complex cesarean section for a pregnant woman carrying quadruplets.

It added that the operation was crowned with success and the four children are in good health, noting that the mother’s health condition is stable and she is receiving the necessary medical care.

Sources explained that the operation came after intensive medical follow-up of the case since the early stages of pregnancy through the specialized clinics at the hospital, given that multiple pregnancies are classified as high-risk cases that require close supervision.

For its part, the administration of Kara General Hospital considered that the success of this operation reflects the development of medical readiness and professional competence of the hospital’s health staff in dealing with critical and complex cases, praising the efforts of the medical, nursing, and technical team that participated in making the operation a success.
