Yemen: 6 Waves of Deadly Houthi Attacks Leave Casualties , Heavy Damage

Sanaa — Houthi forces launched one of their fiercest assaults in recent days on Sunday, carrying out six successive waves of rocket and drone strikes against government‑held areas, resulting in new casualties and significant destruction.

According to Yemeni sources, at least eight soldiers were killed in the attacks. The Ministry of Health confirmed seven civilian deaths and 30 injuries.

The strikes targeted Mokha port on Yemen’s western coast with explosive drones and a booby‑trapped boat, while also hitting residential quarters for staff of the Saudi hospital and nearby areas, Sky News Arabia reported.

In Al‑Khokha, south of Hodeidah province, explosions were heard after Houthi shelling, with sources confirming that Hodeidah governor Al‑Hasan Al‑Taher survived a strike on his residence.

Government forces said they intercepted and destroyed 11 armed drones aimed at Mokha during the attacks. The port director reported severe material losses, with civilian infrastructure among the sites damaged.

The Houthis claimed responsibility, saying the operations targeted weapons depots and were carried out in response to government reinforcements along the western coast and in Taiz.

The escalation adds to a string of deadly confrontations in recent days, including strikes in Marib and Hadramout that left dozens dead and wounded.
